QUICK START

Quick start

The basic path from importing media to exporting your first video.

1

Launch and language

Extract the entire distribution ZIP into a folder, then run Karuiya.exe. Karuiya selects its display language from Windows automatically. Changes made under View → Language take effect the next time Karuiya starts.

2

Create a sequence and add media

The first item in a new project must be a video or image; audio can be added afterward. An image-only project automatically creates a 1920×1080, 30fps NDF sequence.

3

Select, cut, and adjust

Press V for the Selection tool or C for the Razor Tool. Select a clip, then use the right-hand panel to adjust text, volume, position, size, color, and more.

4

Save and relink media

Press Ctrl+S to save a .karprj project. Source media is not embedded in the project. If media goes offline, use the Media menu to search for and relink it. Autosave is for recovery and does not replace a regular save.

5

Preview quality

To keep editing responsive, the preview may use a lower-resolution proxy. This affects only the preview; exports always use the original media.

6

Export

For most exports, choose Standard (Sequence Resolution, Recommended). Use MP4 for sharing, MOV for high-quality output, or MKV for lossless archiving. To export only part of the timeline, set In and Out points with I/O, then add the range to the queue.
